Lodge Of Inbred Hermit Super Friendz

The Lodge

The idea of an Inbreds-Thrush Hermit-Super Friendz east coast supergroup is no longer just the wild masturbatory fantasy of half of the CHARTattack writing staff. It's now a reality.

The Lodge — made up of Mike O'Neill (The Inbreds), Charles Austin (The Super Friendz, Neuseiland), Cliff Gibb (Thrush Hermit) and Andrew Glencross (Neuseiland) — will release the real-world version of their Take That Devil album via Gooseberry Records on April 21. Zunior has the internet edition available for download now.

The Lodge shouldn't be confused with the Inbreds-Super Friendz-Trailer Park Boys collaboration (The Beginners), the Trailer Park Boy-Inbred-Thrush Hermit-El Torpedo project (Doug Mason), the Inbred-Trailer Park Boy collaboration (The Self Conscious), the Super Friendz-Joel Plaskett Emergency-Local Rabbits-whoever else act (Dave Marsh And The True Love Rules) or the on-the-shelf Austin project Lost Wax Guild, amongst others.

The Lodge claim they took their inspiration from Can and The Pixies, but a more apt comparison would be "this is exactly what you'd think an east coast band with Mike O'Neill singing would sound like."

If you haven't been paying attention to the Chart universe for the past 18 years, you can go to The Lodge's MySpace page and listen to three songs and figure out exactly what we're talking about.

The Lodge don't have any shows scheduled, but you can sit back and enjoy O'Neill as Thomas Collins in the following BAM-tacular Trailer Park Boys clips.
