Die Mannequin's Care Failure has an issue with comments Pope Benedict XVI recently made about the global HIV/AIDS crisis.

"[AIDS] cannot be overcome through the distribution of condoms, which even aggravates the problems," he said while en route to Cameroon, according to the U.K.'s The Guardian newspaper.

Failure believes these comments are "wrong" and is encouraging Die Mannequin fans to sign a petition that urges the Pope to "stop condemning proven AIDS prevention strategies."

"i do noT like To GeT kids to divided by reliGion or PoliTics.. or force my beliefs.. ever on any on.. buT This wHole ThinG is jusT sooo wronG," Failure wrote in a March 24 MySpace blog entry.

"i my self was raised caTHolic.. forced confirmed.. .did noT wanT To make my Grand moTHer cry..

"buT THis sHiT THe PoPe jusT said is jusT un True. soo wronG..

"Take look. if you aGree siGn The PeTition.. There is a boX To check ThaT says if you are caTholic or noT as you siGn iT. i Think if you are caTHolic and you all so aGree ThaT iT is so unTrue and wronG.. iT will send a sTronG messaGe.."

International health organizations promote the distribution of condoms and sex education to halt the epidemic and stop the spread of HIV/AIDS. But many religious organizations disagree with using birth control to control the spread of HIV/AIDS. The Catholic church promotes an abstinence-based approach to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.

Die Mannequin have been working on their full-length debut album, which should be out sometime this year.
