Metric are in promotion overdrive for Fantasies, which is available today (Tuesday) through iTunes and the band's website and hits stores on April 7 through Last Gang.
The band have a series of special Canadian shows lined up around the release of the follow-up to 2005's Live It Out and have lined up European tour dates for May and U.S. shows for June.
Metric will play a closed show at the Ottawa Civic Centre on Wednesday and a secret gig at an undisclosed Toronto location later this week. The details will be revealed 24 hours before the concert.
The group will perform and sign autographs at Toronto's 333 Yonge St. HMV location at 5:30 p.m. on April 9 and will do the same at Montreal's 1321 Sainte-Catherine Street West Apple Store at 8 p.m. on April 16.
Metric will play Ottawa's Live 88.5 Lounge on April 12 and Toronto's Mod Club on April 14. The only way to gain entry to the T.O. gig will be from winning tickets from radio station 102.1 The Edge or Ticketmaster on Friday using the password "fantasies."
Additional acoustic and full band shows will be held in Edmonton, Winnipeg, Calgary, Victoria, Vancouver and London, Ont. Those dates will be announced later this week. Tickets will only be available as part of listen-to-win contests held with partner radio stations in each city, or directly from the band as a gift to reward loyal fans. No tickets will be sold.
Metric will also hit the stage at the Telus World Ski And Snowboard Festival in Whistler, B.C. on April 24 and will be part of Edgefest at Toronto's Downsview Park on June 20.

That video is awesome. I wonder how many times they had to practice to get that one continuous sequence right...
