You thought Soundgarden had broken up, but you were wrong. They've reformed ... as Tadgarden. Sort of.
Members of the band kind of reunited at a Tom Morello show at Seattle's Crocodile Cafe on Tuesday night. But they didn't have Timbaland pal and Trent Reznor embarassment Chris Cornell with them as their frontman. Instead, TAD's Tad Doyle handled vocals.
Doyle, guitarist Kim Thayil, drummer Matt Cameron and bassist Ben Shepherd took the stage with Morello at one of his solo gigs to perform Soundgarden hits "Hunted Down," "Nothing To Say" and "Spoonman" (which will now unfortunately be in my head for the rest of the day).
"Not bad for an hour and a half of practice after not playing together for 12 years," Thayil said after the show, according to MTV News. "It was a lot of fun.
"We played yesterday for a bit, but we know all that stuff by heart, so we didn't need to practice much."
The reformation is a bit funny, considering Cornell recently insisted Soundgarden wouldn't reunite unless there was a consensus between all the former members to do so.
"When Soundgarden broke up, my discussions with the rest of the band was, 'We have to have an agreement that we will never tour Soundgarden — Soundgarden will never exist — without it being a unanimous decision and that everyone who was in the band is in the band," Cornell told NME.com.
The singer, who released his Scream solo album earlier this month, also told the website that he and the other former members of Soundgarden had an agreement that they all had to be involved if any Soundgarden songs were performed live.
Here's video footage of the gig:

Check out that clip. They should call themselves Fatgarden.
