Hawksley's Juno And Euro Adventures

Hawksley Workman

Hawksley Workman will be busy on Sunday as part of the Juno Awards weekend in Vancouver, but things won't let up much in April and May.

Workman will host the Songwriters' Circle that begins at noon on Sunday at The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts.

Buffy Sainte-Marie, Ndidi Onukwulu, Sarah Slean, Hedley's Jacob Hoggard, Doc Walker's Chris Thorsteinson and Dave Wasyliw, and Blue Rodeo's Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor will tell the stories behind some of their favourite songs before performing them. CBC Radio 2's cutbacks won't take effect fast enough to prevent it from broadcasting the event live if you want to listen and can't attend in person.

Workman's Between The Beautifuls is nominated for a best adult alternative album Juno, and he'll join fellow nominees Great Big Sea and Eccodek at Sunday evening's show at General Motors Place that will be broadcast live by CTV. This sounds odd, but Workman says in an email bulletin that they'll cover a Led Zeppelin song.

Workman has added a show at Starlight in Waterloo, Ont. on April 20 and will head to Norway, France, England and Switzerland for four shows in May. Here are all of his confirmed dates:

April 15 New York, NY @ Joe's Pub
April 20-21 Waterloo, ON @ Starlight
April 22 Hamilton, ON @ The Studio at Hamilton Place
April 24 Peterborough, ON @ The Montreal House
May 3 Bergen, Norway @ Bergen Festival
May 6 Paris, France @ La Boule Noire
May 9 London, England @ Luminaire
May 10 Zurich, Switzerland @ Harterei
