Black Keys singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach released his Keep It Hid solo debut last month and has been playing in support of it, so drummer Patrick Carney needed something to keep himself busy. He found it in a project that's creatively called Drummer.
Carney plays bass and is joined in the group by Beaten Awake's Jon Finley on vocals and guitar, Houseguest's Steve Clements on keyboards, Party Of Helicopters' Jamie Stillman on guitar and Ghostman And Sandman's Greg Boyd on drums.
Drummer posted "Diamonds To Shake" on their MySpace page and apparently have six songs completed for an album to be released on Carney's Audio Eagle Records in the fall, according to Entertainment Weekly's The Music Mix Blog.
Drummer have gigs booked with Other Girls and Safari in Akron, Ohio on May 15 and Cleveland the next day. A more extensive tour is said to be in the works.
The Black Keys' fifth full-length, Attack & Release, was released last spring. The Black Keys Live At The Crystal Ballroom DVD was issued in November.
