Tool Have Summer Tour Plans

Tool will tour this summer despite there being scant information on the follow-up to 2006's 10,000 Days and frontman Maynard James Keenan's recent preoccupation with his new wine and organic food products business.

Tool are said to be working on a new album and are reportedly the headliners of Denver's Mile High Festival, slated to take place July 18 and 19, according to Rollingstone.com.

"I'm sure many of you have heard of an upcoming summer tour," a message posted on the band's official website on Tuesday reads. "Although I can't announce any specific dates yet (as the bulk of the dates haven't been confirmed), once they are finalized and official, we'll be sure to announce them on the site. So... be on the lookout for these dates to be posted soon, and get ready for live Tool this summer."

It was recently rumoured Tool would be among the bands playing this year's Lollapalooza after the Chicago Tribune named them and The Killers as two of the other headliners on Monday. Tool played the festival in 1993 and 1997, and the lineup is already rumoured to include Jane's Addiction and Beastie Boys, who both played Lollapalooza in the early '90s. The official Lollapalooza lineup has yet to be announced.

Tool haven't toured since late 2007. If you need an instant Tool fix, you can see Keenan at a signing at Whole Foods in San Antonio, Texas today (Friday). We doubt he'll be emitting 30-second "The Grudge"-style screams while signing things, though. That might harm the nearby organic vegetables.

You can also see Keenan when his Puscifer project plays Los Angeles' Club Nokia on April 4 and 5.
