Torquil Campbell Is Dead Child Star

Stars frontman Torquil Campbell has given birth to a new band called Dead Child Star.
Campbell announced the group in a now removed MySpace bulletin and described Dead Child Star as "dreamy and creamy and quite good, like if David Crosby joined Saint Etienne," according to Pitchforkmedia.com.
You can make your own assumptions by listening to the half-dozen songs now posted on Dead Child Star's MySpace page.
Campbell is joined in the band by Apostle Of Hustle's Julian Harris Brown. Metric's Jimmy Shaw, Broken Social Scenester and Apostle Of Hustle's Andrew Whiteman and producer Minotaur Shock have also apparently committed to the project.
Fear not, Stars fans — Dead Child Star won't interfere with Campbell's main squeeze. Stars are expected to reconvene in April to begin work on the follow-up to 2007's Polaris Music Prize-nominated In Our Bedroom After The War. (Check out this cute video of Campbell talking about Stars' Polaris nod here.)
Stars frontwoman Amy Millan is also working on the follow-up to her 2006 solo debut, Honey From The Tombs.
