Slim Twig Has Contempt! For You

Slim Twig
Slim Twig has at least two CHARTattack report card caretakers drinking his Kool-Aid, which should help build buzz for the April 28 Paper Bag Records release of his Contempt! full-length debut.

The largely home-recorded album will be released on CD, vinyl and as a download. It features samples and found sounds as well as more conventional rock 'n' roll instrumentation and is said to reconcile Twig's obsession with early hip-hop with his rockabilly-inflected persona. The album was mastered at The Gas Station by Dale Morningstar.

Twig released two EPs, Derelict Dialect and Vernacular Violence, via Paper Bag last year. The young man also composed music for the short film Letters From R and appeared on screen in director Bruce McDonald's The Tracey Fragments. He recently finished another acting role in French director Kim Chapiron's Dog Pound.

Twig recently showcased at Canadian Music Week in Toronto and the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas. He plans to spend the next few months on the road in support of Contempt! with his band the Mercy Mercenaries.
