Judas Priest may hit the road next year on a tour which would celebrate the 30th anniversary of 1980's
British Steel.
The dates haven't been confirmed yet, but Classic Rock magazine reports that the band could play the album in entirety and in sequence on the rumoured tour.
In the meantime, former Judas Priest singer
Tim "Ripper" Owens, who currently sings for Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force, will release his first solo album,
Play My Game, on May 19 through Steamhammer.
It features guest appearances from current and former members of Whitesnake, Queensryche, Nevermore, Megadeth, Korn, Quiet Riot and others.
"I've gotten better as a songwriter," Owens told Blabbermouth.net. "And I also write songs that the fans can really get into and get their fist pounding in the air.
"I've always been a great fan of the Black Sabbath lineup featuring Ronnie James Dio, and I love Judas Priest. Both bands delivered records that are straightforward and go directly to the bloodstream — which also happens to be my compositional approach."
Judas Priest are currently touring Europe in support of last year's
Nostradamus. They'll hit the road with Whitesnake, in what's sure to be an overabundance of leather and spandex (two things which probably shouldn't ever be combined) on a North American tour this summer.
