Chris Murphy In Scott Pilgrim Movie?

Sloan's Chris Murphy appears in a recent photo on Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World director Edgar Wright's blog, which has led to speculation about whether he'll appear in the film.

Murphy can be seen jamming with actors Michael Cera (Superbad, Juno) and Johnny Simmons in the photo. Cera plays Pilgrim, the leader of a fictional band called Sex Bob-Omb. Simmons portrays a fan (hilariously named Young Neil).

It's not even known if Murphy is working as a music consultant on the film, which is in production. There's also no word on whether Sloan will appear on the soundtrack, which is known to include music from Metric and is being curated by Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is a film adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's graphic novel series of the same name, and Sloan are mentioned in the fifth installment's soundtrack pages.

Broken Social Scene have also apparently been hanging out with Wright, according to the Playlist blog, but there's no word on whether they're involved with the film either.
