When not writing songs for their new studio album, lobbying for gay marriage rights, designing shoes and preparing to publish three books, Tegan And Sara recently found time to cover Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing In The Dark” as part of the ongoing "Hangin' Out On E Street" series of artists paying tribute to The Boss.

Tegan And Sara's acoustic performance was posted this week on Brucespringsteen.net along with a video clip featuring Sara Quin talking about Springsteen's influence.

"My mother was a hottie," she says. "She looked like a tiger and we call it her tiger phase, and she quickly attracted a man who loved Bruce Springsteen.

"His name was Bruce as well. He had a Corvette, he worked at the steel mill, he was like Bruce Springsteen people.

"His house had a Born In The U.S.A., like the biggest poster you had ever seen, it was framed and it had lights on it."

Quin also said Springsteen could take a drastically different musical direction and the result would still be great.

"At this point, I think Bruce Springsteen could put out, like, a rave record and it would be worth it to put it on."

"Hangin' Out On E Street" also features contributions from The Avett Brothers, Against Me!, Mat Kearney, Juliana Hatfield, Josh Ritter, Nicole Atkins, Valencia, Birdmonster, The Gaslight Anthem, Bouncing Souls, Ted Leo, Pete Yorn and Wyclef Jean.
