Wire's Colin Newman will curate Calgary's Sled Island Music Festival this June, but will be in the city on April 11 to take part in a fundraising party for the annual event.
Wire co-headlined last year's festival and Newman will return to choose performers for the June 24 to 27 fest.
But first he'll drum up support at the April 11 party at Calgary's Royal Canadian Legion #1 that will include performances by Fucked Up, Forbidden Dimension, Sharp Ends, The Sublinguals, The War Doves and unnamed special guests.
Last year's second Sled Island Music Festival also featured performances by Broken Social Scene, Jose Gonzalez, Apostle Of Hustle and Chad VanGaalen, among many others. This year's lineup hasn't yet been announced.
