Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows has left the band.
Burrows didn't appear at Razorlight's Monday night gig in Wolverhampton, England, which prompted rumours he might not continue with the band. Burrows told NME.com that he decided to leave the group for "personal reasons" and would pursue other musical projects in the future.
"Over the last two albums and five years, Andy has been an integral part of Razorlight and we will miss him," singer/guitarist Johnny Borrell told NME.com.
"From the day he walked into our rehearsal studio, it was obvious that he was an amazing drummer and he's contributed on many levels beyond that. He's been a great player and a great friend and I think we'll both always be proud of the music we've made together."
The drummer's departure comes just prior to Razorlight's North American tour that's intended to coincide with the March 10 North American release of their third album, Slipway Fires. Burrows will be replaced by David "Skully" Sullivan-Kaplan until the end of the year.
Razorlight's original drummer, Christian Smith-Pancorvo, left in 2004 because of health problems.
