Furtado Making Portuguese And Spanish Albums

Nelly Furtado

Nelly Furtado explored her Portuguese roots somewhat on 2003's Folklore and dabbled with Spanish lyrics on 2006's Loose, but she's apparently jumping into both languages with both feet now.

"I am currently recording two new exciting albums- one in Spanish and one in Portuguese," Furtado reported on her website on Tuesday. "Stay tuned and I will give you a sneak peak really soon.

"Thanks for all the love and support. Stay tuned for some other music-related news really soon."

Furtado also used her message to let people know she has nothing to do with the track "Gotta Know," as some fans apparently believed she did.

"I wanted to inform you officially that the song 'Gotta Know' is NOT my song, and does NOT have my voice on it," the 10-time Juno Award winner said. "I don't know who's song it is! Please spread the word."

The multi-platinum, chart-topping Loose was Furtado's last studio album. A live CD and DVD recorded at shows on her lengthy tour in support of it followed a year later. All of this made her rich.

Furtado appears on Flo Rida's "Jump" from his R.O.O.T.S. album that will hit stores on March 31. She also co-wrote and sang on Divine Brown's "Sunglasses" from last year's The Love Chronicles.

The 30-year-old mother of one, who married Cuban sound engineer Demacio "Demo" Castellón last July, has also dabbled in acting. She's appeared on the One Life To Live and CSI: NY televison shows and had a role in last fall's film adaptation of the Max Payne video game.
