Interpol Bassist Makes Film

Interpol bassist Carlos D has made a film that will premiere in New York City next month.
D (real name Carlos Dengler) stars in the 26-minute My Friends Told Me About You, which will be screened at Anonymous Gallery from April 17 to May 5.
D co-wrote My Friends Told Me About You, which was shot in Chicago in 2007, with director Daniel Ryan (Cashew, Golgotha). D also co-produced the film with Todd Eckert and wrote the score with clarinet player Ian Mitchell.
"Making My Friends Told Me About You was a chance to explore the narrative potential of sound and spectacle," says D. "The idea was to achieve the expression of film as a composition, a tone poem of carefully selected cinematic effects and gestures."

My Friends Told Me About You will be featured in the eighth volume of McSweeney's Wholpin DVD magazine this spring.
Interpol's last album was 2007's Our Love To Admire.
