Die Mannequin Album Almost Done

Die Mannequin are almost finished making their first full-length album.

Singer/guitarist Care Failure, bassist Anthony "Useless" Bleed and drummer Ghostwolf went into a Los Angeles studio late last year to begin recording the disc with producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed). Failure had this statement to make about the album in a March 2 MySpace blog entry that will hurt your eyes:

"wow.. i am a liTTle diZZy.. i have noT seen The saun since november..

"even beinG in.l.a... .Go. .fiGure.. .. . ...

"i Have been in a cave making The new record.. wHich is now in iT's lasT PHJases... i will noT bore you on THe TecHnical.. buT i am aPProacHinG THe finisH. .line.. .... .sHorT. .o. .f. .breaTH.. .,.. .. .buT.. ... .THere... . . .

".i. .know. .you. .will. .a. .l. .l. .love. .iT. .because iT is my besT work. and i am comPleTely proud all ready.. as i geT ThrouGh the mixes i can say ThaT in confidence... .aT. .leasT. .,. .aT. .THe. .very. .leasT.. .,. .i. .am. .Proud.
THe Producer.. .,.. .maTT. .Hyde.. .,. is .Truly.. .. .,.. a fuckinG genious and iT was a ToTal Pleasure.. "

That entry gets a big fat FAIL from us in terms of legibility. Hopefully the album will be better, sonically, since Bleed wrote that it should "come out sounding like every kind of natural disaster you can think of, combined."

I just pictured Hurricane Katrina combined with Mount Vesuvius' infamous eruption in the year 79, and that thought was so intense — what with water and lava being all over the place — that we can't even imagine what it would be like to combine it with anything else.

Die Mannequin released two EPs — 2006's How To Kill and 2007's Slaughter Daughter — before a compilation of those EPs called Unicorn Steak came out last year.
