Another U2 Album Coming This Year

U2 just released No Line On The Horizon, but that won't stop the Irish juggernauts from putting out more music this year.

The band told The New York Times newspaper that they plan to release an as-yet-untitled No Line "companion" album that will have a "more meditative and processional tone."

U2 also revealed they'll continue to release music via record labels instead of experimenting with Radiohead-like releases.

"My instinct is to stick with the record guys," The Edge told the Times. "They have to sell your records or sell the downloads, whatever it ends up being.

"To do that, first of all you've got to love and understand the music, and right now, I'm not seeing any group that rivals the record labels on that front."

"I'm interested in commerce," Bono added. "The excuse for bigness is that songs demand to be heard if they're any good. And without the kind of momentum of being in a big rock 'n' roll band, you won't get your songs heard."

New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg declared that the city's West 53rd Street will be temporarily renamed U2 Way in honour of No Line On The Horizon's release today (Tuesday).

The name change is appropriate since The Ed Sullivan Theater, the location of David Letterman's studio, is at the intersection of West 53rd and Broadway. U2 began their five-night residency on Late Show With David Letterman on Monday night and played "Breathe." Check it out:
