Alexisonfire's Young Cardinals Release Inches Closer

Alexisonfire
Alexisonfire have nearly finished recording their fourth album, Young Cardinals.

Vocalist George Pettit wrote on the band's blog on Sunday that Alexisonfire have the "drums, bass and most of the guitars completed" and have "now moved on to leads and overdubs."

"i think the vocals will have to be done in Hamilton, as our time in Vancouver is limited, as much as we would love to board up the doors and never leave this studio again, we would go broke pretty quickly. soon we will have to leave all the beauty of the Berrard bridge and Granville island behind."

The band, who recently thwarted a narc, spent their weekend recording and having brunch at Vancouver's Twisted Fork restaurant, which Pettit describes as "a great place to sit around and gab about black metal over bananas and french toast."

Alexisonfire have been documenting the making of Young Cardinals since they went into the studio with producer Nick Blagona (April Wine, Cat Stevens) last week. The album should be released this year.

Alexisonfire will play Edgefest 2009 at Toronto's Downsview Park on June 20.
