Doherty Hustling Libertines Reunion

Pete Doherty is determined to convince former bandmate Carl Barat to reform The Libertines.
Doherty told NME.com that he'll "try and twist [Barat's] arm about getting The Libertines back together" in a video interview that can be seen below.
"I think it's after a bit of this," Doherty said, gesturing to himself, "to be honest. A bit of solo action."
Doherty said he wouldn't "twist [Barat's arm] too far" because the singer/guitarist has "a very nasty streak." But he said he hoped a Libertines reunion would happen in a few years, "by hook or by crook," even though Barat has already turned down lucrative offers from concert promoters because of concerns that Doherty could sap his "good energy" and bring "darkness" into his life.
Doherty was voted best solo artist at Wednesday night's NME Shockwaves Awards even though his Grace/Wastelands debut solo album won't be released until March 24. Barat and Doherty reunited at the show and reportedly hugged at Doherty's table.
"I'm completely happy doing that, it's what I do innit," Barat said of his support for Doherty.
The Libertines formed in 1997 and released 2002's Up The Bracket and 2004's The Libertines before breaking up that same year. Doherty's well-documented problems with drug addiction were one of the main reasons for the outfit's split.
Doherty went on to form Babyshambles, with whom he's since released two albums, while Barat formed Dirty Pretty Things. That group broke up last year.
