New Patrick Watson Album In April

Patrick Watson's sophomore album, Wooden Arms, will be released on April 28 by Secret City Records and its new distributor, EMI Music Canada.
It seems that Canadian bands decided that 2009's top trend (so far) are albums about wooden appendages, since Pilot Speed are also releasing their latest effort, Wooden Bones, on that same day.
Watson self-produced the album and recorded its 11 tracks in Montreal with bandmates Simon Angell, Robbie Kuster and Mishka Stein late last year. Wooden Arms is the follow-up to 2006's Juno Award-nominated and Polaris Music Prize-winning Close To Paradise.
No track list for Wooden Arms has been announced, but song titles include the title cut, "Beijing," "Big Bird In A Small Cage," "Fireweed," "Machinery Of The Heavens," "Man Like You," "Tracy's Waters,""Traveling Salesman," "Hommage" and "Down At The Beach."
Watson was originally in ska band Gangster Politics and released his Waterproof9 solo debut in 2000. Watson composed the soundtrack to the French-Canadian film C'est Pas Moi, Je Le Jure! (which means "It's Not Me, I Swear!" in English) last year.
Watson plans to tour in support of Wooden Arms, but no dates have been announced.
