Tinted Windows: Unlikely Supergroup

There are and have been many supergroups with ungodly lineups throughout music history (Asia, Bad English or New Edition, anyone?), and the latest are Tinted Windows.
The band feature former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha, Hanson singer/keyboardist Taylor Hanson, Fountains Of Wayne bassist Adam Schlesinger and Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos.
Tinted Windows' self-titled release will be available on April 21 through S-Curve Records. No track list has been announced.
Hanson and Schlesinger met in the mid-'90s and decided then that they wanted to work together. After Hanson met Iha, the three began talking about power pop and decided it would be a good thing to collaborate.
"We talked about everything from the Buzzcocks to The Knack," Iha told Rollingstone.com's The Smoking Section blog. "And of course, Cheap Trick."
Hanson, Schlesinger and Iha began jamming together and looked for a drummer with a style similar to Carlos. Then they probably clued in that they could probably get the real thing, and he said yes.
You can see Tinted Windows at Austin, Texas' Pangaea on March 20 as part of the South By Southwest Music Festival. They'll also play the Bamboozle Festival on May 3 at East Rutherford, N.J.'s Meadowlands Sports Complex and will appear on The Late Show With David Letterman on April 20.
There's no word on whether anything is still cooking with The Fucking Virgins, another Iha supergroup that was apparently set to feature Melissa Auf Der Maur, Ryan Adams and Evan Dando.
