Scott Weiland knows "heroin chic" (or at least heroin), and now we'll see if his sense of style can translate into a successful fashion line.

The solo artist, former Velvet Revolver frontman and past and current Stone Temple Pilots singer's Weiland For English Laundry clothes will hit stores this month at prices ranging from $40 to $120 for a variety of shirts, jackets, vests, slacks, ties, scarves, T-shirts and hats. He designed them with Christopher Wicks, who apparently shares Weiland's tastes in addition to owning the Rock & Roll Religion clothing company.

"When I was a kid, it was The Rolling Stones and the Beatles and David Bowie," Weiland told Spin of his fashion icons. "Even when Bob Dylan was young, he just looked amazing. But somewhere along the way, rock lost its elegance."

Some of the clothes — which aim to be elegant, but with a late '60s and '70s rock 'n' roll edge — will be emblazoned with Weiland's family crest.

"I've always been interested in fashion — it's a valid art form," said Weiland. "As I've gotten older, I've become more interested in sophistication; it lends itself to maturity without sacrificing the rock 'n' roll side.

"After all, you can't continue to dress like you did in your early twenties — unless you're Keith Richards."
