30 Seconds Album Could Be Free

Hands up if you've ever bought a 30 Seconds To Mars album.
Anybody? Anybody? Yeah, me neither.
30 Seconds To Mars are finishing their third album, tentatively titled This Is War, which should be out some time this spring. They're working with producer Flood (U2, Depeche Mode) on the album, which singer (and microphone-throwing perpetual douchebag) Jared Leto recently told Rock Sound magazine that the band may give away for free. Why? Well, because they didn't make any money off the last two.
"Anything can happen; you never know what the future will hold," Leto said. "Maybe we will just throw our album on the internet and see if anybody wants to take it.
"We have never made a penny from selling a record anyway so why would it matter to us?"
You might wonder whether 30 Seconds To Mars' label, Virgin Records, has a problem with that. But considering the band aren't on particularly good terms with the label, they probably don't care what Virgin thinks.
Virgin announced last summer that it was suing the band for $30 million U.S. (about $37 million Canadian) because Leto and company hadn't followed through with the terms of their contract, which included delivering three albums.
