Decemberists Get Hazardous On Tour

The Decemberists will play their first round of tour dates in May following the March 24 release of The Hazards Of Love.

But the Portland, Ore. band will first play the album in its entirety at Stubb's as part of the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas on March 18. For the "A Short Fazed Hovel" tour starting in May, the band will play two sets: all of The Hazards Of Love, and then "a tidy selection of older material."

The Decemberists will be joined by Lavender Diamond's Becky Stark and My Brightest Diamond's Shara Worden on the tour. They both appear on The Hazards Of Love. Tickets go on sale on Friday and Saturday through Ticketmaster. There are no Canadian dates on the itinerary, though the band promise that more shows are on the way.
