Indie Award Nominees Announced

The Trews lead the way for this year's Independent Music Awards with four nominations.

The band received nods for favourite album, single, video and live artist/group. Fucked Up, City And Colour, LIGHTS, Matt Mays & El Torpedo, Kathleen Edwards, The Midway State and American teenage country sensation Taylor Swift received three nominations each.

Montreal comedian Jon Lajoie will host the awards show, which will be held on March 14 at Toronto's Fairmont Royal York hotel and broadcast live on XM Satellite Radio. Arkells, Beast, Crystal Castles, Hey Rosetta!, USS (who were all nominated for Indies) and Anvil (who'll be inducted into the Indies Hall Of Fame) are slated to perform. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at the CMW website or by phone.
