Tuesday was a big day for Moneen, as the punk band's It All Started With A Red Stripe received a music DVD of the year Juno Award nomination.
Next Tuesday is also circled on Moneen's calendar, and not just because of the $2.79 two-piece chicken special at KFC. Dine Alone Records will make the five-song Saying Something You Have Already Said Before: A Quiet Side Of Moneen available as a download from its web store on that day.
The EP includes four re-recorded tracks from 2006's The Red Tree and the previously unreleased "Prepare Yourself... The Worst Is Yet To Come."
Moneen have been working on a new album, but will take some time off to head to Australia later this month for the Soundwave Festival. You have until 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday to enter a contest to join them for one of these shows:
Feb. 21 Brisbane, Australia @ RNA Showgrounds (Soundwave Festival)
Feb. 22 Sydney, Australia @ Eastern Creek Raceway (Soundwave Festival)
Feb. 24 Sydney, Australia @ The Annandale w/Bedouin Soundclash, Attack In Black and The Audition
Feb. 26 Melbourne, Australia @ East Brunswick Club w/Bedouin Soundclash, Attack In Black and The Audition
Feb. 27 Melbourne, Australia @ Melbourne Showgrounds (Soundwave Festival)
Feb. 28 Adelaide, Australia @ Bonython Park (Soundwave Festival)
March 2 Perth, Australia @ Steel Blue Oval (Soundwave Festival)
Here are the songs on Saying Something You Have Already Said Before: A Quiet Side Of Moneen:
"Prepare Yourself... The Worst Is Yet To Come"
"This Is All Bigger Than Me"
"There Are A Million Reasons For Why This May Not Work... And Just One For Why It Will"
"The East Has Stolen Something The West May Want"
"The Song I Swore Never To Sing"
