Sex Pistol Joining Stooges?

Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones ended his run as the host of Jonesy's Jukebox when Los Angeles' Indie 103.1 ended its terrestrial broadcasts to become an online-only radio station last month.
The Stooges lost guitarist Ron Asheton when he died of an apparent heart attack at age 60 last month.
Put these two facts together and the idea of Jones replacing Asheton in The Stooges makes a lot of sense.
The two men have similar guitar styles. The Stooges have tour dates to fill. Jones has time on his hands.
The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame member told the Los Angeles Times' Pop & Hiss blog he's talked with Iggy Pop about joining The Stooges to replace Asheton because "having an old friend take his place might help the band soldier on." But nothing has been confirmed.
Jones, 53, has done well financially from recent Sex Pistols reunion tours and doesn't need the money. But he wouldn't mind some work.
Jones has apparently been solicited by a variety of traditional, satellite and online radio stations, and even television stations, about hosting a show. But he doesn't want to jump into anything too quickly that he might regret later, and he only wants to work in L.A. or New York City.
"Wherever I go, I will still do my show the same," Jones told the Times. "I wouldn't change it.
"I don't think I should, and I hope any of these people that are thinking of hiring me aren't going to try to mold me into something else."
