Tegan And Sara Shoes Now Available

If you're so obsessed with Tegan And Sara that you drew their names on your shoes, you're weird... and you may take comfort in the fact that you'll soon be able to get your own Tegan And Sara shoes.

The Quin twins have teamed up with Macbeth Footwear to make their own footwear. But here's the catch: they're not Tegan And Sara shoes. They're Tegan or Sara shoes. Tegan and Sara Quin worked with their friend, designer Emy Storey, to design two pairs of shoes. Tegan's are black and come with a hand-drawn wave on the side, while Sara's are beige come with an S on the side. The shoes are completely vegan and made without animal products.

So, if you want to wear Tegan And Sara shoes, you'll have to buy a pair of Tegans and a pair of Saras, and then wear one on each foot. That might make you look weirder than if you just drew their names on your shoes.

The shoes will be out sometime this month and can be ordered through Macbeth's website. More information about where they're available in North America and parts of Europe is available in a Feb. 3 MySpace blog entry where Sara interviews Storey about things such as whether it would be narcissistic for her to wear a Tegan shoe on one foot and a Sara shoe on the other.

Tegan And Sara recently began writing songs for their fifth studio album, which they'll start recording in the spring. Death Cab For Cutie guitarist Chris Walla, who produced 2007's The Con, is on board again. The album should be out sometime in the fall and will be preceded by three photo books in the spring.
