Barrie, Ont. folk 'n' roll band Fox Jaws will headline a concert for the deaf and hard of hearing at Toronto's Clinton's Tavern on March 5.

The show — presented by Ryerson University's Centre Of Learning Technology And The Science Of Music, Auditory Research and Technology Lab — will feature music visualization, open captioning, interpreters and Emoti-Chairs, which translate music into a series of tactile sensations, including rocking and vibrating. It will be the first time that the chairs will be used in a live music setting.

Ill.Gates, Treestar, The Dufraines, Hollywood Swank and DJ Stephane Vera are also on the bill for the show, which is part of the Alternative Sensory Information Displays project that's geared towards exploring alternative methods for presenting sensory information to those who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Fox Jaws are recording the follow-up to 2007's Goodbye Doris. If you can't wait until March to see the band, they'll play what we're sure will be a romantic show on Valentine's Day at Toronto's El Mocambo.
