Rapper
DMX was sentenced to 90 days in jail on Friday after
he pleaded guilty on Dec. 30 to one felony count of theft, one count each of felony possession or use of marijuana and a narcotic drug and a misdemeanour count of animal cruelty.
DMX (real name
Earl Simmons) was also placed on 18 months' supervised probation in connection with charges that arose after an August 2007
raid at his suburban Phoenix, Az. home where police say they discovered 12 malnourished and three dead dogs, guns, ammunition and drug paraphernalia.
The 38-year-old has been behind bars since his Dec. 9
arrest at the Palm Island, Fla. mansion of record producer Scott Storch for failing to appear in court in Phoenix. He wasn't given credit for time served.
The extra time in jail should give DMX more time to realize his true calling as a
pastor and tell God he
didn't mean it.
