New Final Fantasy Video

Final Fantasy just released the first video from his Plays To Please EP.

"Horsetail Feathers" was directed by Tracy Maurice, who also directed Arcade Fire's "Black Mirror" video. The clip features a celestial backdrop interspersed with lo-fi images of a woman dancing with a fan and Final Fantasy (a.k.a. Owen Pallett) singing in a toga. It also has probably the most disturbing scene of someone eating a Timbit that you've ever seen. Check out the video here.

Pallett released two EPs, Plays To Please and Spectrum, 14th Century, last fall. Both are now available on limited-edition (1,000 copies) 10-inch vinyl at record stores and through mail order.

Pallett previously released two videos from Spectrum, "Blue Imelda" and "The Butcher," which can be viewed here.

The Arcade Fire collaborator is also working on Heartland, his full-length follow-up to 2006's Polaris Music Prize-winning He Poos Clouds. No release date or track list has been announced.

You can see Final Fantasy in person (rather than in video form) if you're in New York City on Feb. 6 and 7 when he plays The Kitchen with Matt Smith. He'll return to "The Big Apple" on Feb. 28 for a performance at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House with Grizzly Bear, Nico Muhly and The Brooklyn Philharmonic.
