You Say Party! We Say Die! want you to send them any video footage of the band that you may have idly occupying space on your computer or anywhere else.
The band are taking a "tour/show hiatus" for the first half of 2009 so they can write and record their third record, the follow-up to 2007's Lose All Time.
"we don't want to forget how much we rock," guitarist Derek Adam wrote in a Jan. 26 MySpace blog entry. "or how much we suck. or however we might have played that night when you stole our souls through whatever lens you pointed at us... fair enough trade, i'd say! plus, videos are good for the ol' memories!
"especially older ones from years ago that we've almost forgotten about, like that abby basement show at the TF house where the ceiling got torn apart and there was a little chiuahua running around everyone's feet that somehow managed to survive the evening... i clearly remember seeing someone holding a video camera right up front and capturing the madness...
"WHERE ARE YOU!!?? i'm talking to you! get it out there! if you fail us, the next record might end up sounding like smooth jazz. DO YOU WANT SMOOTH JAZZ?? no, of course you don't. now get cracking, get get cracking."
Bassist Stephen O'Shea recently remixed Toronto band Young Flux's "Break Apart," which can be found on their debut EP. You can hear the remix on Young Flux's MySpace page.
You can see You Say Party! We Say Die! play songs that we're sure won't be smooth jazz at Abbotsford, B.C.'s Yale Secondary Drama Room on Feb. 19.
