Retrospective III (1989-2008), the third release in Rush's career-spanning series of compilations, will hit stores via Anthem/Atlantic on March 3.
The music from the Toronto band's two decades with Atlantic Records will be available on a single CD or in combination with a DVD.
The CD includes a previously unreleased live version of "Ghost Of A Chance," which was recorded in Atlanta during last year's Snakes & Arrows tour. There are also new versions of "One Little Victory" and "Earthshine" that were remixed by Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson and Juno Award-nominated engineer Richard Chycki (Aerosmith, Mick Jagger).
The DVD includes Rush's 10 music videos from their Atlantic years, including the Grammy Award-nominated "Malignant Narcissism." It also features performances of three songs (including a cover of The Who's "The Seeker") filmed in Frankfurt, Germany during the band's 30th anniversary world tour in 2004. A televised performance of "Tom Sawyer" and an interview with Lifeson, singer/bassist Geddy Lee and drummer Neil Peart are also on the disc.
Americans can pre-order a "Deluxe Rush Fan Pack" through Rush's website. It combines the CD/DVD package with a limited-edition lithograph highlighting the albums featured on Retrospective III. The first 100 orders will receive a signed lithograph.
Rush are nominated for a Grammy for best rock instrumental performance for "Hope (Live For The Art Of Peace)," their contribution to the Songs For Tibet: The Art Of Peace compilation.
