Paul McCartney will appear on The Colbert Report tonight (Wednesday).
The former Beatles and Wings member will talk about his recently releasedElectric Arguments, which he made with producer-musician Youth under the name The Fireman.
McCartney will perform at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 8 with Foo Fighter Dave Grohl as his guest drummer. Radiohead, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Jay-Z, T.I., Coldplay, Jonas Brothers, Katy Perry, Lil Wayne and Jennifer Hudson are among the other stars slated to perform on the show.
Rumours are swirling that McCartney may also perform in Ottawa this year. AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band, U2, Elton John, Billy Joel, Metallica, Nickelback and Radiohead have also been mentioned as possible visitors to Canada's capital. The speculation should end on Monday when Live Nation Canada's Riley O'Connor and Ottawa mayor Larry O'Brien will make an announcement at a media conference at Ottawa City Hall.
Maybe McCartney will be able to relay his vision of enlightenment and world peace to Ottawa politicians by teaching them transcendental meditation and yogic flying. McCartney will join Sheryl Crow, Eddie Vedder, Donovan and Moby at an April 4 benefit concert at New York City's Radio City Music Hall to raise money to instruct children how to yogic fly.
If you can't make it to that gig, which is being organized by oddball film and television director David Lynch (Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks), check out some yogic flying action here:
Wings' "Junior's Farm," "Jet" and "Hi Hi Hi" will be available for the Guitar Hero World Tour video game on Feb. 19.
"Yogic flying"?! Gimme a break. Couldn't they think of a better reason to have a fundraiser with such big acts?! Why not teach kids something a little more useful than this.....
"Maybe McCartney will be able to relay his vision of enlightenment and world peace to Ottawa politicians by teaching them transcendental meditation and yogic flying."
Or solve our bus strike. Then again, if we master yogic flying, we won't need the buses, so either way we're good.
Factual error. Funds aren't being raised to teach Yogic Flying. The money will be used to support instruction in Transcendental Meditation, a simple meditation technique practiced 20 minutes twice a day.
