Wednesday is a big day for Sarah McLachlan.
The Vancouver singer/songwriter is celebrating her 41st birthday, and she's the first performer to be named for the March 29 Juno Awards show in her hometown.
McLachlan, who has sold more than 30 million records and won eight Junos, will also receive the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award during Juno weekend.
More performers for the CTV-televised Juno show from General Motors Place will be revealed on Feb. 3, when all the nominees for this year's awards are announced at a media conference at Toronto's Fairmont Royal York Hotel.
If you're interested in attending the Juno broadcast and seeing sub-Nardwuarian host Russell Peters and other Canadian stars in person, 500 early bird ticket packages go on sale at 10 a.m. PT on Saturday through Ticketmaster. The packages includes a JunoFest wristband and tickets to the Juno Cup hockey game, the songwriters circle and the GM Place show. They range in price from $217.74 to $292.74.
