Scarlett Johansson has thus far only recorded one original song, and that trend continues with her recent cover of Jeff Buckley's "Last Goodbye."
Katy Perry's inspiration covered the Buckley track for the soundtrack to her latest movie, He's Just Not That Into You. The movie is bizarrely based on a self-help book that was inspired by an episode of Sex & The City.
You can hear Johansson's cover of "Last Goodbye" at Stereogum, though if you're the kind of person who's easily offended by bad covers, you might want to skip it.
Johansson released Anywhere I Lay My Head, an album which mostly consisted of Tom Waits covers (and that one original song), last year. She's since talked about recording a follow-up of Leonard Cohen tunes.
Johansson is a decent actress, and she should probably stick to her day job. Buckley's dead. Leave him alone.
