Noel Gallagher and Oasis received seven Shockwaves NME Awards nominations on Tuesday, which is more than anyone else. Not surprisingly, Gallagher expected more.

"Seven nominations, you say?" the songwriter and guitarist said to NME.com. "Is that all?

"I always knew my time would come in the best dressed man in the world category."

Alex Turner received six nominations for his work with Arctic Monkeys, The Last Shadow Puppets and on his own. Kings Of Leon, MGMT, Radiohead and Vampire Weekend also figured prominently in the nominations.

NME continues its love affair with Toronto's Crystal Castles, who are somehow in the running for best international band and dancefloor filler for "Courtship Dating."

The nominees were decided by fan voting, and the winners will be, too. You can cast your ballot here.

The awards ceremony will take place at London, England's Brixton Academy on Feb. 25. The Godlike Genius Award will be presented to The Cure, who'll play a 90-minute set at London's O2 Arena the next night as part of the Shockwaves NME Awards Big Gig 2009 along with Franz Ferdinand, Crystal Castles and White Lies.
