LIGHTS' Ten Second Epic And Film Contributions

You'll soon be able to hear LIGHTS on more than just last year's self-titled debut EP.

The Toronto singer contributed vocals to Ten Second Epic's "Everyday" from Hometown. The album will be released on Tuesday, but you can hear the entire thing on the Edmonton band's MySpace page now.

LIGHTS can also be heard in the Canadian film One Week, which stars former Dawson's Creek actor Joshua Jackson and premieres on March 6. The movie tells the story of a young man (Jackson) who's diagnosed with cancer and decides to postpone treatment and take a cross-country trip on a vintage motorcycle. He has an intense encounter along the way with a woman named Tracey, played by singer/songwriter Emm Gryner. Joel Plaskett and another Canadian singer you can see below also make cameo appearances.

"It features a lot of great Canadian musicians, and I was asked to be a voice in the soundtrack throughout the whole thing," LIGHTS wrote about the film in a MySpace blog entry on Saturday.

"It's kind of cool because I don't actually sing words, rather my voice acts as more of an instrument that blends in with the background music, it adds an interesting dynamic to the film! I'm really proud of it."

One Week features music from Gryner, Plaskett, Hugh And Rosie, Great Lake Swimmers, Sam Roberts, Selina Martin, Stars, Kupek, Hugh Oliver, Patrick Watson, Sunparlour Players, Ged Flood, The Salteens, Melissa McClelland, Luke Doucet, Fried Up Fred And Co. and Wintersleep.
