Ryan Gosling Launches Music Career

We've seen this many times before — in fact, we saw it earlier this week with actor-turned-rapper (yes, that's right) Joaquin Phoenix: A successful actor decides to branch out with a music career.
It's probably not unfair to say most actors who've become musicians haven't been as successful with their music careers, and their music hasn't been... good, either. Look at the evidence. You can understand if the announcement that Canadian heart-throb Academy Award nominated actor Ryan Gosling (Half Nelson, Lars And The Real Girl) is turning to music has us a little worried.
That said, Gosling was on The Mickey Mouse Club television show as a child, which may mean he has some musical talent, right? Sure, but considering The Mickey Mouse Club alumni include Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake, that doesn't bode well, either.
At any rate, Gosling and his friend Zach Shields are perhaps now better known (at least in musical circles) as Dead Man's Bones. Their Never Let A Lack Of Talent Get You Down debut album will be released on their Werewolf Heart label this summer. There's no track list for it yet, but a video for a track called "In The Room Where You Sleep" has been making the rounds on the internet, and you can see it below.
The lo-fi clip features Gosling on keys, and a children's choir dressed like dead people, skeletons and zombies. You can hear a live version of the track on Dead Man's Bones' MySpace page, and you can see them perform at Austin, Texas' South By Southwest festival on March 21.
