Strokes Jam Together Again

While two members of The Strokes are busy with side projects, the band will still begin writing their fourth album in February.

Guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr. told Rollingstone.com that the band will begin working on their fourth album next month.

"We're getting back together for the first time in two years, and it's very exciting. We're just going to start working on songs. I mean, sounds — we don't even have the songs. We got to get back to playing first. That's all I know. Right now, it's just February 11th at 2 o'clock, we're going to the studio to hang out and play music. I just know the date and time."

Hammond is producing the new album from New York's Postelles, while drummer Fabrizio Moretti is set to head south later this month to tour Brazil with his Little Joy side project. Their self-titled debut came out last year.

Bassist Nicolai Fraiture will release a solo album under his Nickel Eye moniker on Tuesday, and is touring in support of it.

The Strokes haven't released an album since 2006's First Impressions Of Earth.
