Katy Perry Goes Celibate

Katy Perry (with Kitty Purry?)

If you hoped to kiss the now single Katy Perry, you're out of luck. She's pulled a Morrissey and gone celibate — at least for this year.

Perry, who recently split with Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy, told TV Guide that she's decided not to be romantically involved with anyone for the time being. This means no purposeful boob flashing (which doesn't rule out the accidental kind) or girl kissing.

"I've actually taken a vow of celibacy this year," she said, according to US Weekly magazine. "No kissing anyone. Just my cat, Kitty Purry."

Perry wrote on her blog on Jan. 13 that she wanted the media to stop discussing her personal life. So much for that, we guess.

"I don't give statements about my personal life," she wrote. "The stories read about the things I say introducing some of my songs are merely to explain the forth coming song.

"I enjoy being myself on stage and that's what you expect of me. I have made many of the same introductions before... just lately everyone's dissecting my every word. Understandable. When I wanna share something with the world, the world will know... otherwise, stop looking for a story, or an explanation."
