Oasis VFest Attack Charges Upgraded

The man who allegedly pushed Oasis' Noel Gallagher on stage at Toronto's Virgin Festival last year is facing up to 14 years in prison if he's found guilty of aggravated assault.
Prosecutors changed the charges against 47-year-old Daniel Sullivan, who allegedly shoved Gallagher into his monitors during the band's Sept. 7 set at the Toronto Islands concert, from assault to aggravated assault.
Aggravated assault is a much more serious charge that carries a sentence of up to 14 years in prison compared to a maximum of five for assault.
A man ran on stage
and shoved Gallagher off his feet before he was tackled by security
guards and taken off stage
about 45 minutes into Oasis' Virgin Festival performance. Oasis finished their set, but were later
forced to cancel and reschedule several dates because Gallagher suffered three broken ribs.
Sullivan is due to appear in a Toronto court again on March 6 for a pre-trial hearing.
