Clap Your Hands Stop Clapping

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah aren't clapping to the same beat anymore, since they've abandoned their studio plans to take a break.
Singer/guitarist Alec Ounsworth, guitarists/keyboardists Robbie Guertin and Lee Sargent, bassist Tyler Sargent and drummer Sean Greenhalgh last went into the studio to record 2007's Some Loud Thunder. Although their management says they probably won't work together anytime soon, they aren't necessarily breaking up.
"It's true that Clap Your Hands Say Yeah have decided not to go back into the studio at this time while the guys work on other projects," manager Nick Stern told NME.com.
Stern also pointed out that rumours of the band splitting up are "probably reading a bit too much into things."
What are those other projects?
Guertin and Tyler Sargent are working with Au Revoir Simone singer/keyboardist Annie Hart on a book, music and art project called Uninhabitable Mansions. Ounsworth is working on solo material and has begun looking for collaborators to help him test it out. Greenhalgh is in a Guns N' Roses tribute band called Mr. Brownstone.
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah have one date on the horizon before they stop playing together for the next little while. You can see them at Brooklyn, New York's Brooklyn Academy Of Music in the Howard Gilman Opera House on Feb. 13.
