Myles Kennedy Won't Sing With Zeppelin

Jimmy Page manager Peter Mensch declared earlier this month there would be no Led Zeppelin-like reunion because his guitar-playing client, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer Jason Bonham couldn't find a suitable replacement for hold-out singer Robert Plant.
But here's a breaking news flash: Alter Bridge vocalist Myles Kennedy, who auditioned for the position, says there won't be a Led Zeppelin-like reunion. Gasp!
"I am not singing in Led Zeppelin or any offshoot of Led Zeppelin, but I did have a great opportunity [to jam with them] and it was something that I'm very grateful for," the singer said in an interview for The Blairing Out With Eric Blair Show at the National Association Of Music Merchants conference and trade show last week. "But Alter Bridge will go on, and that's that."
This may be the last time that people care what Kennedy has to say, unless it's revealed that he's Ted Kennedy's love child. Lots of people were interested in Led Zeppelin. A lot less give a shit about Alter Bridge, unless it's an amusing story about the Florida band's excessive patriotism resulting in an attack on Living Things.
But in a reasonably clever ploy to extend the time that people will pay attention to him, Kennedy revealed little else about the "surreal" and "great" experience of rehearsing with the three musicians.
When asked what songs they played, he said, "I'll tell that story some day. But for now, it was a good experience, and I'm still pinching myself, let's put it that way."
Alter Bridge are apparently writing songs for the follow-up to 2007's Blackbird.
There's still no definite word on whether the former Creed members who back Kennedy in the band will hook up again with Scott Stapp for a rumoured Creed reunion. Who, exactly, is clamouring for that?
