Industrial band KMFDM are marking their 25th anniversary this year with a Blitz.
But just because the band originated in Germany, don't fret — this won't be reminiscent of the blitz Adolf Hitler launched 70 years ago. KMFDM may be aggressive, but they're not sociopaths, megalomaniacs, murderers or racists.
The 11-track, 52-minute Blitz will be released on March 24 by Metropolis Records. The band's 16th full-length album was produced by KMFDM frontman Sascha Konietzko with help from current group member Jules Hodgson and past member Tim Skold (Marilyn Manson).
KMFDM (an acronym of a phrase roughly translated from German as "No Pity For The Majority") was formed by Sascha Konietzko and have had a number of musicians contribute to their hard-eged sound over the years, including Bill Rieflin (Ministry, R.E.M.), Nivek Ogre (Skinny Puppy, OhGr), Mark Durante (Revolting Cocks, The Waco Brothers) and Nina Hagen. The current lineup features Konietzko and Lucia Cifarelli on vocals, Andy Selway on drums and Steve White and Hodgson on guitar.
A 25th anniversary U.S. tour is planned for the fall, but you can see them here in the meantime:
May 29 Madrid, Spain @ Sala Caracol
