Mishka, the first artist to sign to actor Matthew McConaughey's J.K. Livin record label, will release Above The Bones on Feb. 17 and tour North America to promote it.
The tour launches on the day of the album's release and makes a few stops in Canada. You can hear Above The Bones' title track and "3rd Eye Vision" on Mishka's MySpace page. That last song and "Coastline Journey" were featured in McConaughey's film, Surfer Dude.
Above The Bones was co-produced by McConaughey and Atlanta producer/musician Daryl Thompson (Sly And Robbie, Peter Tosh).
Mishka was born in Bermuda and his father raised him and his recording artist sister Heather Nova (real name Heather Frith) on a boat. His music features elements of reggae, folk, soul and rock. His 1999 self-titled effort was followed by 2005's One Tree.
