Simple Plan Rule Year-End Poll

We've said it before and we'll say it again: Simple Plan fans are a bored bunch. So bored that they voted a combined 135,922 times for the band in all the categories they were nominated in.

Simple Plan's self-titled album won the award for best Canadian album with a whopping 59,028 votes. "Save You" picked up the most votes for best song and best video, with a total of 8,051 and 5,695 votes in each respective category. More than 33,000 of you think Simple Plan bassist David Desrosiers has the best haircut, while more than 29,000 think that singer Pierre Bouvier is Canada's sexiest man.

Even if these results come from five crazy diehards voting from the same IP addresses every five seconds, it's still pretty insane.

Elsewhere, Tegan And Sara picked up the award for sexiest Canadian female. We get that they're identical twins, but here's a secret: that doesn't make them the same person.

Emo dominated the rest of the categories. My Chemical Romance's The Black Parade Is Dead! somehow narrowly edged out Fall Out Boy's Folie A Deux for best international album. The latter band had been battling it out with Panic At The Disco's Pretty.Odd. throughout the poll's duration, and MCR were a distant third even as of Friday morning.

Panic At The Disco losing the exclamation mark was voted the best and worst thing to happen to music this year. We're not sure how it can be both, but thanks for your votes.

Every time I see someone wearing bright green Crocs, a part of me dies inside, so I'm also happy to see that Croc shoes were once again declared the year's stupidest trend. Being declared more stupid than Sarah Palin is a feat (pun very much intended), let me tell you.
