Cadence Weapon Fans Should Be Ashamed

You only have about 29 hours left to vote in our 14th annual year-end readers' poll before it closes Friday at 5 p.m.

Some of you have already voted your little hearts out and spammed our site with comments. But there are certain people who should be ashamed of themselves, like fans of these artists: Cadence Weapon, Beast, Black Lungs, Dandi Wind, D.O.A., Flash Lightnin', Gonzales, Mobile, Woodhands and The Wet Secrets. All these acts have three votes or less in the best Canadian album category.

We know that D.O.A. fans have no problem with enthusiastic voting. After all, they just made sure that frontman Joey "Shithead" Keithley was acknowledged as the most influential British Columbian of all time.

We get that you may feel some of these albums truthfully aren't worth more than one vote, but how is it that Cadence Weapon has absolutely no votes? Doesn't he have an entire legion of Pitchfork types behind him who are just frothing at the mouth whenever he makes any move whatsoever? Where the hell are they? Oh right. Too cool. We get it.

Fans of Antony And The Johnsons, The Cool Kids, Justice, The Kills, Ladytron, Lightspeed Champion, The Raveonettes and Tricky should also hang their heads in shame. All those acts have three votes or less in the best international album category.

We also aren't sure why Kardinal Offishall's "Dangerous" only has three votes for best song. Wasn't it a mega-hit? And why have both songs by Kanye West only taken in a combined 22 votes?

How come no one thinks Dandi Wind is sexy? At least one person has to like her enough to think she's Canada's sexiest female. If one person even thinks Pony Da Look's Rebecca Mendoza is sexy... Wait, that vote might have come from Mendoza baby daddy Chris Murphy. Actually, he probably voted for LIGHTS.

Those of you who haven't been voting need to get your asses in gear. This is unacceptable. Like we've been saying all week, voting is patriotic. Why do you hate Canada?
