Lily Allen Doesn't Think Cocaine's Bad

Lily Allen
Lily Allen wants you to know that drugs aren't a big deal — especially cocaine.

According to the U.K.'s Daily Star tabloid, Allen recently admitted that she started using coke because "I felt like a lonely child, when everyone else was doing it and I wasn't." (Peer pressure is bad, Lily. Maybe you could have used a D.A.R.E. program as a child.)

"I know lots of people who take cocaine three nights a week and get up and go to work," Allen said.

"But we never hear that side of the story. I wish people wouldn't sensationalise it. Some people are just bad at taking drugs."

Allen is the subject of wedding rumours after she was spotted wearing a shiny new diamond ring on the ring finger on her left hand. The 23-year-old singer/songwriter recently returned to the U.K. after going on holiday in the Caribbean with her boyfriend, 45-year-old multi-millionaire Jay Jopling.

"Lily is not engaged and she is definitely not married," Allen's spokesperson told Britain's Telegraph newspaper.

But if the engagement rumours are true, Jopling and Allen may not be able to get hitched for a while. Jopling is separated from his wife, artist Sam Taylor-Wood, but not divorced.

Allen is also in the running to follow in Billie Piper's footsteps and become the new assistant on television's Doctor Who. Newcomer Matt Smith will take over the main role in 2010.

Allen is a 6-4 favourite to win the role, according to the WalesOnline.co.uk website. Former S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens and actresses Kelly Brook, Michelle Ryan and Catherine Zeta-Jones are also apparently in the running.
